FAQS

Each chalet booking includes a 1.5 hour seated experience in your private chalet. Afterward, you’re welcome to continue the evening by the Ski Bar.

Yes! Spots are limited, and our chalets book out fast. We highly recommend reserving your experience ahead of time

Guests of all ages are welcome. Alcohol will only be served to guests 18 years and over (valid ID required).

- Children under 6 years old can attend for free.
- Children aged 6 and above require a standard ticket.

However, please note that the minimum chalet booking price is based on 6 paid guests.

For example:

- If your group includes 4 adults and 2 children under 6, the booking would still be charged at $99 Γ— 6 guests (the minimum chalet price).
- The two children under 6 may attend and dine with the group at no additional cost.

This means your chalet may include 6 paying guests plus up to 2 small children under 6.

Unfortunately, no. While we love furry friends, there are firepits throughout the chalet experience, making it unsafe for pets. We appreciate your understanding!

Yes. We have four wheelchair-accessible chalets available in the Alpine village:

- 2 chalets for groups of 8 guests
- 2 chalets for groups of 6 guests

After booking, you’ll receive access to your customer booking platform, where you can add guest details and tick the wheelchair access requirement box. Our team will then ensure your group is allocated one of the accessible chalets.

If you have any specific accessibility questions or would like assistance before booking, please feel free to contact our team.

Yes. Families are welcome, though the experience is especially popular for couples and groups of friends.

The Alpine village will be hosted at Fed Square in Melbourne, transformed into a cosy mountain setting for winter.

Yes. Parking is available at Fed Square Car Park, with additional public parking options nearby. Public transport is also highly recommended, as Flinders Street Station is directly across the road.

Fondue Chalet is at Fed Square, which is in Melbourne’s Free Tram Zone! This means you can hop on a tram and travel for free within the city grid. No myki needed - just sit back and enjoy the ride.

If you’re traveling from outside the Free Tram Zone, make sure to tap your myki at the reader when starting and finishing your trip. Look for the Free Tram Zone signs at tram stops to check if you’re within the boundary!

Otherwise, if you’re traveling by car, Google Maps is your best friend! Click here to start your route.

The village opens at 4:45 pm on weekdays and 12:15 pm on weekends during Winter 2026.

We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before your booking time to check in and enjoy your welcome mulled wine before being guided to your chalet. Late arrivals may, unfortunately, result in forfeited bookings.

Yes. Once your fondue chalet session ends, you’re welcome to continue the evening at the Ski Bar.

Tickets start from $79 per person, depending on the hour, chalet size and any additional experiences or upgrades.

Your ticket includes:

- A private chalet experience
- Your chosen cheese ritual (Fondue or Raclette)
- Accompaniments for the cheese experience (please refer to this page for the full inclusions)
- Marshmallow skewers
- A complimentary glass of French mulled wine on arrival

Yes. Guests can upgrade their experience with options such as Chocolate Fondue for the chalet and additional drinks from the Ski Bar. However, the portions in the base package are set and cannot be adjusted.

No. Each chalet is reserved exclusively for your group.

Your chalet and firepits are private, but the waiting area and Ski Bar are shared areas.

Chalets are allocated prior to arrival by the host team, based on the type of cheese ritual, accessibility requirements, and size of the group.

Chalets are assigned based on operational flow, so specific chalet locations cannot be guaranteed.

If you are booking multiple chalets, please contact the team in advance and we’ll do our best to seat your groups nearby.

Yes. Larger groups can reserve multiple chalets depending on availability.

Absolutely. The experience is perfect for celebrations. For large group bookings or special arrangements, contact the team in advance.

Each chalet chooses one shared ritual for the table:

Fondue Savoyarde – a bubbling pot of melted French cheese and crusty bread to dip in.

Mountain Raclette – grilled and melted cheese poured over potatoes and charcuterie

No. Each chalet selects one ritual to share together.

Yes. The cheeses are imported from France to create an authentic Alpine flavour.

Your Fondue Guide will introduce the cheeses and demonstrate the ritual, then guide you through the melting process at your table.

Yes. Our Raclette ritual is gluten-free, as it is served with steamed potatoes, raclette cheese portions melted under a grill, and a charcuterie platter.

For the Fondue Savoyarde, which is traditionally served with bread for dipping, we can provide gluten-free bread on request. Please let us know when booking or upon arrival so our team can prepare this for your chalet.

Yes. Both cheese rituals can be adapted for vegetarians. The charcuterie platter can be replaced with a vegetable side plate, or we can prepare a mixed platter with both vegetables and charcuterie for the table. Just let our team know when booking or upon arrival.

At this stage, we’re unable to offer a fully vegan experience.

While we can replace the charcuterie platter with a vegetable option, both of our core rituals β€” Fondue Savoyarde and Raclette β€” are centred around traditional French cheeses, which contain dairy.

As a pop-up experience, we operate with a set menu designed around these classic Alpine dishes, so we’re not able to offer vegan cheese alternatives or fully customise the menu.

We always recommend reviewing the menu before booking to ensure the experience is the right fit for you.

Absolutely. If you prefer not to have charcuterie, it can be replaced with a vegetable side plate, or we can prepare a half charcuterie / half vegetable platter. Pricing remains the same.

Our Fondue Savoyarde is made from a rich blend of traditional French cheeses, so it does contain dairy.

The Raclette experience also includes cheese, so it is not dairy-free. However, because the raclette portions are melted individually at the table, guests may choose to skip the cheese and enjoy the potatoes and charcuterie instead if preferred. Pricing remains the same.

Our Fondue Savoyarde is made with a traditional Alpine blend of cheeses, white wine, and kirsch (cherry liqueur), and is served with bread and a charcuterie platter.

Our fondue contains cheese, white wine, kirsch (cherry liqueur), and charcuterie. For specific advice regarding pregnancy and food safety, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional or referring to official government guidelines.

Of course! We’ll be offering a delicious non-alcoholic mulled wine for guests who prefer to skip the alcohol while still enjoying the warm Alpine welcome.

Yes. Your ticket includes the core Alpine dining experience, which features:

- A drink on arrival (mulled wine, non-alcoholic mulled wine, or a soft drink)
- Your chosen Cheese Ritual (Fondue Savoyarde or Mountain Raclette)
- Accompaniments β€” bread for fondue or potatoes for raclette, both served with a charcuterie side
- Free water throughout the experience
- A dedicated Cheese Guide to introduce the cheeses and guide you through the ritual
- Access to the fire pit experience with roasted marshmallows

Dessert is not included in the standard ticket.

Guests can add Chocolate Fondue to their chalet booking if they’d like a sweet finale to the evening. This optional add-on includes melted chocolate served with fruit for dipping.

Yes. A Chocolate Fondue chalet add-on is available for selected sessions if you’d like to extend the sweet moment with melted chocolate and fresh fruit.

Yes. Guests receive a complimentary glass of French mulled wine on arrival.

Yes. Additional drinks are available throughout the evening, ordered in your chalet, delivered from the Ski Bar.

Yes. Guests are welcome to gather around the outdoor fire pits after their chalet experience to roast marshmallows and enjoy drinks.

The Ski Bar is the Apres-ski area of the village, where guests can enjoy winter cocktails, wine, and a lively Alpine atmosphere.

The Ski Bar remains open until 10:30 pm each evening.

The Alpine village is an outdoor winter setting, while chalets are enclosed and designed to be cosy.

The experience runs rain, hail, or snow, just like a real Alpine evening.

Tickets are non-refundable.

Changes may be possible depending on availability. Please contact the team as early as possible if your self-help portal (available through your confirmation email) doesn't work.

Your chalet booking runs on a schedule, so late arrivals may lose part of their allocated time.
